Naturally Curious
Today, environmental awareness is higher than ever. There is a great movement happening; millions of Americans are showing support for communities and ecosystems all across the world. This is wonderful. Amazing really. However, my aim for this blog is to take that same compassion and direct it specifically towards our very own back-yards. As Virginians we are blessed to have a wide range of bio-activity within the Ol' Commonwealth. From beaches, bays, estuaries, swamps, rivers, and creeks, to forest, grasslands, valleys, hilltops, and mountain peaks. Virginians are exposed to a plethora of wildlife. It is not only important to realize that, but to also be knowledgeable about this wildlife. Just knowing about these local flora & fauna, is the first step towards protecting them. Knowledge is power. My hopes for this blog are to enable the audience to recognize native species, further public awareness, and even encourage actions that would benefit the local environment.
